Overview

WpopW (“WpopW”, “we”, “us”) operates wpopw.com and provides the PopVid video-reply widget and related WordPress plugins. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers this website, your WpopW account and customer portal, our affiliate program, and the limited data our plugins send to our servers at api.wpopw.com. Questions? Email info@wpopw.com.

Information you provide

When you create an account, buy a plan, join the affiliate program or contact support, we collect the details you give us — such as your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), the country and website or channel you enter, affiliate payout details (for example a PayPal email or bank/IBAN information), and the content of any message you send us.

Purchase information

When you buy a Membership, we record order details such as the plan, amount, date, the last four digits of your payment card, and the IP address the purchase was made from (used to prevent fraud and abuse and to review chargebacks). Full card numbers are handled by our payment provider and are never stored on our servers.

Data our plugin sends us

To activate your license and deliver updates, the plugin contacts api.wpopw.com and sends your license key, your site URL, a hashed site identifier, and your WordPress and plugin version numbers. Update checks send the same information. If you turn on the optional “help improve PopVid” setting in the free edition, the plugin sends only your site URL and WordPress/plugin version so we can count active installs — nothing else.

The “Powered by PopVid” badge

The free edition can display a “Powered by PopVid” badge. When a visitor clicks it, their browser opens a link to our site carrying the referring site’s address and, if set, an affiliate code. We log that click with a salted, one-way hash of the visitor’s IP address (never the raw IP) and the browser user-agent, for referral statistics and fraud prevention.

What we do NOT collect from your visitors

PopVid’s callback and lead features store your visitors’ phone numbers and details ONLY in your own WordPress database — this information is never sent to WpopW, and the plugin never records the visitor’s IP. Widget statistics (views, plays, clicks, callback counts) are likewise stored on your own site. We do not receive your website visitors’ phone numbers, names or IP addresses through the widget.

Cookies & local storage

Our website uses first-party browser storage to remember a referral or affiliate code so a sale can be credited correctly (kept for up to 60 days), and a service worker to load pages faster. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Some pages load web fonts from Google Fonts; your browser contacts Google to fetch them, subject to Google’s own policies.

How we use your information

We use your information to create and manage your account, deliver licenses and updates, provide support, process purchases and affiliate commissions, send service and transactional emails (such as license keys, password resets and affiliate status notices), prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and improve our products. Our legal bases include performing our contract with you, your consent (for example the optional install ping), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. We never sell your personal data.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to run the service: Cloudflare (website and API hosting, database, file storage and security) and Brevo (Sendinblue), which sends our transactional email. When card payments are enabled, a third-party payment provider processes them. These providers process data only on our instructions.

International transfers

Our infrastructure runs on globally distributed networks, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Data retention

We keep account, license and order records for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Affiliate click logs and hashed identifiers are kept only as long as needed for statistics and fraud prevention. You can ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls on the admin area, and signed, checksum-verified plugin downloads, among other safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info@wpopw.com from your account address and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you use the widget on your site

When you install PopVid and collect callback requests or leads from your own visitors, you are the data controller for that information and are responsible for having a lawful basis, showing any required notices, and complying with privacy and calling/telemarketing laws that apply where your visitors are located. WpopW is not a party to that relationship and does not receive that data.

Children

Our Services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
